ChildrenWe love having families on our tours and each tour allows children ages 5 and up. Please note that guests are responsible to bring carseats/booster seats that your child needs.
-
Guests with DisabilitiesFor the safety of our passengers, all guests must have upper body strength with the ability to hold themselves up during the tour. Additionally, guests are responsible for getting themselves in and out of our vehicles. Each Jeep comes equipped with a step stool that your guide will set out for you at the meeting location. We have successfully accommodated guests with mobility challenges, and we recognize that each case is unique, but we are happy to work with your party to find the best solution. In some cases, private tours may be best suited to ensure your maximum safety and comfort - please call us to discuss specifics.
-
Pregnant GuestsMost of our jeep tours are considered too rugged for women who are expecting. However, our Blue Ridge Parkway tour does stay on paved roads the entire time.
-
Is there a minimum number of passengers required?Yes, most of our trips require at least 3 passengers to operate. If we do not reach our minimum for your tour, your guide will contact you before the trip. If need be, we will try to move your booking to another time slot/booking. If we cannot adjust your booking and the minimum is not met, the tour will be canceled and you will receive a refund for the trip
-
Walking and HikingThe Backroads & Waterfalls Tour requires hiking to reach one of the waterfalls. The hike is 1 mile total and is on a gravel road with some slight elevation change. The Blue Ridge Parkway Tour does not require any hiking although we do have picture stops where you will be getting out of the vehicle and doing short walks on uneven terrain.
-
DogsAs much as we love our furry friends, we cannot safely allow dogs to join us on this tour.
-
Rain and Inclement WeatherRain is very common in this area, in fact, these these mountains are considered a temperate rainforest. Our tours operate rain or shine. Rainfall in the summer is generally short-lived and may offer the chance for you to see rainbows or bigger waterfalls. We carry rain ponchos in the vehicles in case of inclement weather. In the case of extreme weather, Asheville Jeep Tours and/or the Pisgah National Forest Service reserves the right to modify, shorten or cancel any tour to prevent damage to trails or avoid unsafe conditions.

Do I Tip my Guide? Our goal is to make sure your experience is exceptional. If your guide achieves this goal, then we ask that you show them your appreciation. Our amazing guides are always thankful to receive a tip! (typically, in this industry, tips are between 15% - 20% of the cost of your activity)
-
What do I Wear?Dress for the season in comfortable outdoor clothing with closed-toe shoes. Layers are best with jackets in winter and light clothing in summer. Contact lens wearers may want to switch to eyeglasses to avoid eye irritation. Temperatures can be colder in the early hours or at night; sometimes the weather up in the mountains can be 15 - 20 degrees cooler than Asheville.
-
What do I Bring? We recommend bringing a water bottle, camera or cell phone. We have a water cooler on the front of the jeep for you to get more water. For the safety and comfort of our guests, full meals and glass bottles are prohibited on the vehicle. If necessary, you are welcome to bring a small containable snack such as a granola bar. A purse or standard-sized backpack is acceptable, however, there is no storage space in our vehicles. Anything you bring needs to fit comfortably in your lap throughout the tour.
